Saunders Medical Center Emergency Department is set up to serve critically ill and seriously injured patients. The ER area consists of seven private rooms and 2 major trauma bays to provide immediate attentive service from our ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and Trauma certified nursing and medical staff. SMC offers the most appropriate transfer for our critical patients. Transfers are done by private auto, a medical transport ambulance service or helicopter. The Life Net helicopter is only 17 minutes away and the new helipad is located right outside the ER entrance allowing for a quick and smooth transfer for our critical patients.
