Saunders Medical Center Patient Pharmacy is staffed by a full time pharmacist who reviews the drug therapy of all in-patients, checks for drug interactions and consults with physicians to make sure that all drug therapy is safe and effective. The pharmacy stocks and supplies all of the new high-tech drugs that can be used for out-patient therapies such as blood clot prevention and blood cell modification. The pharmacist can consult with a patients personal pharmacy prior to discharge to make sure their drug therapy is uninterrupted when they transition from the hospital to home. The Pharmacy has a trained pharmacist on call 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.
