The Board of Trustees of Saunders Medical Center consists of 5 members who are appointed by the Saunders County Board of Supervisors. The SMC Board members are:

- Dr. John Hansen, Jr., Vice Chairperson, Wahoo
- John Berggren, Weston
- Glenn Baumert, Treasurer, Wahoo
- Marsha Rogers, Ceresco
From the President of the Board of Trustees:
When the board began discussing the needs of health care in Saunders County over five years ago, it was not a lack of quality health care that was the need. We have the people who are capable of providing quality health care and we have the services that our county residents desire. What we lacked was space, an adequate location a building that met the needs of patients and staff. The structure we were in was a big barrier to ensuring health care for tomorrow. And that was the vision – quality health care today and tomorrow. Health care is one of the vital pillars of any community. The Saunders County community pulled together when faced with a great need for its health care. It took foresight and cooperation to ensure top quality health care will continue to be here for another 50 years. Thank you to everyone who helped turn the vision into a reality. The board of trustees knows that just having a new facility is not enough to guarantee quality health care. We will continue to monitor operations, seek input from the public and make decisions based upon what is best for SMC and the people of Saunders County.
